Inspecting Used Car Under 5000 Toyota
When we where on the road earlier this year and had attended a busy and well received auction for used cars in Alabama which had a decent turn out where most of the vehicles sold for well under value we made some interesting observations. The successful sale is typical because when the price is right there always seems to be plenty of ready willing and able buyers looking to purchase bargains.
While all the action was going on it was interesting to note how most of the potential used car buyers would follow basically the same ritualistic process while examining each of the used vehicles which they happened to be interested in.
The way each party would look at the exact same points makes it worthwhile to mention the main points that anybody who is looking to buy a used car should carefully look at, or have looked at, before they make a purchase. A prime example was a sharp 2003 Toyota Prius which had just over 100,000 miles on it and it was locally owned according to the information sheet by a used car dealer in Alabama. The car got a lot of attention and the selling price opportunity for the used Toyota Prius was I believe under $5,000 which is a good price and would be an easy resale for a decent profit. This is because the car looked great, sounded great mechanically and a lot of people are interested in economical used cars and the Prius certainly gets terrific gas mileage.
The car was well maintained both in and out and the paint was in great shape. Typically on used cars which are six years old will have their fair share of scratches and minor dings. This is considered to be a good representation of just how well the vehicle has been maintained by any previous owners. In the case of this 2003 Prius for example the minor scratches and dings were at a surprisingly few. This would indicate that it may not have been driven very often on rougher roadways or even suffered the inevitable ill effects of being parked in a busy shopping center where the likelihood of being banged up is fairly high. So the next thing is taking a look at the interior which based on the outside should be in pretty good condition.
One thing which is easy to tell about any used car is whether it had been smoked in heavily by any of the previous owners. The obvious tell tale signs could include the smell which can be tough to get rid of in some vehicles. Also the indicators may include little burns on the seats or flooring in the vehicle and even on the roof liner. In the case of this used Prius however it appeared on the surface anyway that it was quite unlikely that any of the previous owners had smoked heavily in the car. This is a good sign in the fact that it means that the car can potentially bring more value in the used car market in Alabama as well as anywhere else for that matter. This is simply a quality point meaning that the closer to new that a used car looks the better price it will bring in most situations.
The next thing which most buyers will look at is how the engine looks and sounds. Obviously this is the opportunity to get an idea of whether there are any mechanical issues and if there are then how minor they are with an overall focus on the cost to make any fixes if necessary. Overall potential buyers do not spend a great deal of time looking at a used car which they are interested in. The reason is because by looking at the most important basics they will get a feel for the condition of the vehicle and if these points look good and the price is right whether it is for resale or for their own personal vehicle then they make an offer. Anyone who is shopping for a good used car should still do the level of research which they are most comfortable with and these are basically the main points which we see most people look at.
