Literal Second Hand Cars
Typically when a used car has only had one owner the overall condition of the vehicle is better at least on a percentage basis than the average condition. These are post first owner and literally second hand cars.
In situations were the previous owner took exceptional care of the vehicle it is sometimes represented at an amazing level of detail which includes the documentation of exactly what was ever done for the car. This is certainly always a pleasure to find.
We have seen instances where every piece of documentation with regards to the maintenance of the car had been kept and well organized as well. Now in these instances the overall condition of the second hand car is usually stunning. There really is a noticeable difference when this level of care has been taken and applies to both the interior as well as exterior.
Over the years we have seen quite a few examples of situations like these and generally this is on a relatively common make and model. However there have been a few instances where this has been the case on a much rarer older car such as one of the classic muscle cars for instance. When these kinds of finds occur, as rare as they are, they tend to generate a huge amount of buzz around them as there are quite a few collectors with great interest in these.
In the case of some of the more memorable instances there may be a stack of oil change records as kept for many years. In one case these records had all been performed at one single dealership that for well over a decade had performed oil changes on the car at intervals at incredibly exact intervals. I believe there was some form of special coupons which the original owner had received as part of the deal when they originally bought the car as in lifetime maintenance of some type. Now in today’s world of various creative used car buying incentives even this would stand out as unique.
Now this may have been an older Honda if I remember correctly and it was certainly nothing rare about the make or model but still it was an excellent second hand car which had been extremely well taken care of and was a one owner vehicle as well. The condition of the vehicle definitely has the ability to reflect the personality of the owner to some extent. In other words when the condition is superb it is probably a safe guess that the owner takes exceptional care of their other belongings as well. Obviously there are other give away signs of at least the cosmetic condition of used cars such as non-smoking which typically means better overall color of the interior, lack of any burns on any of the upholstery, lack of any underlying odors just to name a few. When the care which the first owner had provided is exceptional it makes for high quality second hand cars which are nearly always extremely easy to resell.
