Some people would have very little objection to a statement praising the fact that cars where simply built better in decades gone by. This of course all depends on who you talk to but it may be more than just opinion.

1967 Ford Mustang

Over the years we have certainly seen our fair share of classic cars come up for sale just out of the blue so to speak. In reality when the owner of anything of some value decides that it is time to sell, we find that their initial desire to sell their old car is when they are most focused on getting the job done. This is good because it can save the owner a great deal of time as well as unforeseen hassles involved with trying to deal with selling the car.

Since we have tried to maintain a rather high profile and reputation for providing quality it has made it possible to see the results benefit everyone involved. Although not everyone is interested in parting with something that means a great deal to them, those who are typically seek a reasonable price once they decide to sell.

On the other side of this will be those who have kept their old car not for any sentimental reasons or even with an eye on the value or appreciation over the years. Classic car owners such as these may have simply used the vehicle as their source of transportation for many years because they got great performance out of them. These are likely going to be the people who can provide a wealth of information about just why the older cars where simply built better then the newer ones whether this be mere opinion or not.

Used Ford Mustang

The word plastic seems to get used quite frequently as they describe their opinions of the so called newer cars. This is of course due to the fact that there was a whole lot less plastic on the classic cars and that is not only mere opinion. We have known some collectors as well who spend a huge amount of their time trying to hunt down these vehicles and make offers. Our opinion is that as long as the owner gets a fair price and they have no problem with parting with their old used car then great. The fact is that once it is sold it will typically be very lovingly restored to an amazing state and then be able to be fully appreciated by the masses.

One of the great situations we found while a multi-car deal was transpiring a few years back as an inventory adjustment of some used cars under 5000 which were needed in another local market is worthy of mention. This situation was actually an old 1967 Ford Mustang which had been in the garage of the neighbor to a small used car dealership. The dealer was really never interested in the Mustang because they targeted makes and models which were not in the vintage line so it was not an appealing item to them. However when we learned of this we decided to dig in a little deeper and needless to say a fantastic example of a 1967 Mustang was acquired. Ultimately the car wound up in the possession of a very appreciative classic car enthusiast and is appreciated by not so much the masses but by all who do get the opportunity to gaze upon it when it is proudly driven.

The usual responses will be pretty impressive and the compliments seem to be never ending. This may be at a show or simply on a weekend night while cruising. No matter what the specifics are the fact is that this is when you will most likely hear just how the old cars are simply built better than the newer plastic models. Opinion or not there is definitely some fact in there.
