Old Chevy Nova
Since we have spent a great deal of time traveling to various used car buying events over the years we have seen countless opportunities to buy older used cars under value which were in immaculate condition. On the other hand the same can be said about many of them which would certainly be considered fixer uppers worthy of restoration.

One of these opportunities which comes to mind was one when we came across a used car in Illinois which was definitely worthy of the latter being a great project car. This was an original early sixties Chevy Nova which needed some work and we knew just the client who would love to acquire the old car. The terms were easy to work out as the old car was sitting under a carport of sorts, luckily it was covered, and had been there for who knows just how many years. The owner was very inclined to sell the old used car under what we thought they would want. This is always good and we were quite obliged to pay their asking price.
I believe that the original Chevy Nova was a design intended to fill a gap in the automotive industry selection at the time. Back then it appears that times were changing significantly and based on the data available auto manufactures relied on market research which would be considered somewhat crude today if not for the simplicity of which research data was collected, compiled and available to be accessed as it is today. Basically the research pointed to the fact that the public was extremely interested in a so called compact car with a somewhat consistently conventional design. Out of all of this quickly arose the Chevy II morphing into the Nova as we would all come to know it.
Typically finds like this are sought after by those looking to restore or fix up the old cars commonly creating heavy mods and rods for race or show. This is one of the wonderful yet not quite so common aspects of traveling around to various car buying events. This is not your typical used car acquisition outing but the fact of the matter is that deals exist in many places. These may not be typical and basically most shoppers are looking for cheap used cars for everyday driving needs but some of these older cars like this one are actually quite road ready. In fact the new owner actually drove this car immediately after cleaning it up and giving it a bit of a tune up. In the end there was so little to be done to the vehicle that it was hard to do too many mods without feeling a bit guilty. Different people have varying opinions when it comes to altering originality and it is certainly a viable point that if something remains so close to its original configuration after so many years then this is exactly what adds to its overall appeal as well as its value.
