Over the years the number of people who show an interest in police auction cars has remained fairly stable. There are always customers who may inquire about any real hidden bargains but most dealers do not keep inventory hidden.

Police Auction Cars

Even when the deals are really exceptional on the lot there are few instances when a car is not for sale. For example when a used car is part of the inventory it may still be used as a company vehicle in some situations providing necessary or not so necessary transportation for the business or employees. The purpose may be well served with some of the interesting finds which can come from some of the police car auctions we have attended over the years.

Take the used Ford Police Interceptor for example, not only are these typically advanced in the power which they provide but they have a certain way of garnering some level of respect out on the road. This is definitely attributed to the look as a police car, even unmarked, is pretty easy to spot in the rear view mirror and when you experience this while driving it becomes quite clear that this effect does happen frequently.

This can actually be amusing to the point where the driver may just begin to get a bit more self assured over time and begin to use the fact the people respond to these used police cars in a way that allows the driver to get away with a few games. Although we have heard from some customers who have bought police auction cars over the years how most of them humbly admit that the games can lead to a bit of trouble if the driver get too far carried away with them.

Used Police Car

For example one driver tells their story of how they were surprised themselves to find red lights flashing in the rear view mirror of the used Ford they had been driving. These are frequently decent used cars under 3000 however and when they are used for company purposes they are for the most part used in a well behaved manner, we think. Either way they do offer an extra bit of hard to resist fun when driving them. Some of the really best deals may come from local police car auctions which offer the customer the ability to checkout the merchandise before they decide to do any biding. This typically includes the basics such as how does the exterior of the car look and if there are any issues are they going to be easy to address or are they of any real concern to begin with.

Then there is the condition of the interior where in our experience the used police cars are actually in really decent condition. They will often simply show signs of wear from people getting in and out of them so often day after day for several years. This is almost always no more than simply cosmetic issues which are typically easy to take car of.

Of course when the prospective buyer is checking out the vehicle the ultimate test is going to be how the car starts and how it sounds when it is running. This allows for what we usually find to be a very well taken care of motor. One thing which appears to be highly prevalent among these used police cars is the fact that they were well maintained from a mechanical perspective. Although they may have been driven hard at times this is basically what they were built to do and since the cities or states which owned them had a rather substantial investment in them, they generally appear to have been kept on quite regimented maintenance plans.
