Used Car Oklahoma
In spite of the less than stable economy in recent times the used car Oklahoma market remains relatively stable. The state has one of the fastest growing state economies in the nation in both per capita income and in gross domestic product helping contribute to the stability of the economy.
The state is one of the nation’s largest producers of crude oil and natural gas as well as being an integral contributor to the area of installed wind energy capacity. The states largest city is its capital Oklahoma City and is ranked as the twenty eight most populous states in the nation.
Motor vehicles are required to have titles issued by the state with application being made within thirty days of acquiring ownership. Titles may be applied for using the Motor Vehicle Division or any of the motor license agencies which are conveniently located throughout the state. When the requirements for the issuance of the title have been completed appropriately the actual title is to be mailed to the vehicle owner on record and not the lien holder. This is the case even when payments are still being made to a lender who may be holding the title until the balance of the auto financing loan is paid off.
Both federal and state laws require that there be an odometer disclosure when a transfer of ownership occurs with a motor vehicle which is nine years old or newer. There are very few exceptions to this. The disclosure basically consists of a statement pertaining to the vehicle’s odometer reading and how accurate it is believed to be at the time of the ownership transfer. The disclosure must be attested to by the party transferring the ownership and the party receiving ownership of the vehicle.
We have generally found that used cars under 3000 dollars sell equally well in both metropolitan areas as well as more rural areas. Metropolitan areas such as Oklahoma City and Tulsa certainly have the advantage of large numbers of people from all walks of life. This obviously means that there are more opportunities for any business including the auto industry.
Less populous areas such as Norman, Lawton, Broken Arrow, Edmond, Midwest City, Moore, Enid, Stillwater, and many other much more rural areas may have relatively less competition in the new car market. However finding used cars under 5000 dollars for example might mean that you may have to travel just a bit in order to find the best selection if you are in very rural areas but this holds true in any of the fifty states.
The economic climate will play a role in not only the quantity of vehicles which are produced but also in what consumers can expect to pay for used cars as well. On one hand there may be more to choose from but on the other hand the value may be reduced as it becomes more of a buyers market. This is why so many car dealers are offering special financing, having large inventory reduction sales, and offering various incentives in order to attract the buyers in order to make the sale. Needless to say this reinforces the fact that it is a great time to buy a used car in Oklahoma. Simple economics dictate that when the economy improves prices of these vehicles will increase.
