Used Car Oregon
We had recently been through the Portland area to pickup several used cars for transport and had the opportunity to speak with the local dealers. Just like several other states many regions of the used car Oregon market has fared well through recent economic climate as dealers continue to offer an assortment of buying incentives.
This typically does not hold so true in the new vehicle arena but this is good news for the used car dealers who are ready and willing to make the deals very attractive. The typical incentives these days are designed to entice the customer solely because dealerships realize how important each and every sale is. A happy and satisfied customer is gold in this business and we know from many years of experience that the customer truly is why we are here.
It was not so long ago that we had the opportunity to travel throughout the state to cities like Eugene, Salem and Corvallis of course it was all business but these business trips are also always full of lots of time to take in the local atmosphere. The scenery in Oregon can be absolutely stunning whether you see it up close or just from the highway.
We had taken the coast up from northern California partially Interstate 5 partly for the scenery and partly for business as well. We had met some associates who would eventually become very good friends and they had several local used car lots in Oregon. We had actually been introduced at another used car auction the previous year. It was at a local police car auction which was open to the public and we had wound up bidding on several of the same vehicles and began a conversation about the particular models which were selling well in our areas.
Used cars in Oregon have requirements for those who will operate them within the state new vehicles which have been bought from an Oregon dealer have very specific requirements as well. For example the dealer will typically submit the title and the registration paperwork to the DMV on the customer’s behalf. This is basically a courtesy and one less thing for the customer to have to worry about.
If the used car purchaser wishes to do the paperwork themselves it is certainly not difficult and some of the main things they will need to do include submitting the application as well as the fees to the DMV as soon as possible. The application forms include the Application for Title and Registration. Also there are the fees which will typically include, but not necessarily be limited to title fees, registration fees and the license plate fees.
When you purchase a new or used car in the state of Oregon you will be able to transfer your old Oregon plates to the vehicle as long as they are of a type which the DMV still issues or be a specialty background design. Also the plates must be in good condition. There are several other specifics and the used car dealer will once again be able to assist you with these requirements.
