One of the used cars which was recently looked over after it was traded in was a decent looking yet rather typical used Chevy but it kept one of the mechanics busy for a while working on a high idle issue.

For the most part it seemed like the car was pretty well used as far as the interior goes. This was actually a great example of how some of the used cars under 3000 will have some signs of use hidden under the need for a good detail job whether this is on the interior or the exterior.

Now there are definitely times when one of these bargain automobiles will be priced under $3000 for a reason other than the used cosmetic aspect. Actually there are a lot of reasons and each case is different. The good news is that most of the previous owners, not all of them, will have let the interior get shall we say kind of messy.

Now if you stop and think about it most vehicle owners will let their cars get a bit on the junky side at least in between washes. This is the same thing as with the used car with the high idle issue. In other words once the detailers got finished the interior looked sparkling and the same can be said for the exterior of the vehicle.

The things that can be done to make a car look really decent are the simple things which some people do all of the time and others do not do so often. These are just simple things like a really good wash and wax as well as the interior detailing. What a difference this makes on most of the used cars which are traded in.

Apparently the mechanic wound up doing some work to the gaskets of the manifold which was although a time consuming job it was quite inexpensive as far as parts go. The fact that the vehicle was repaired to the point that it sounded outstanding and drove really well probably played a direct role in why it sold so quickly. This is not uncommon really for the used cars under 3000 and in the case of this one the reason why it was priced so low was basically due to the fact that the trade in value was quite diminished which was agreed upon by the seller at the time of the trade in as well due to the issues with the motor and the high idle. This being the case as it is quite often the car was able to be priced for a quick sale and everybody was happy. This is one of the nice things about the used car industry and that is that the prices are reflective of the specifics of each deal as opposed to the much more narrow range fluctuations found within the newer cars.
